07-11-2012     Recently acquired a new touring shield for the Ninja. Ordered from Mike at http://www.mikesshields.com/. This guy builds touring shields in his spare time, and for a very reasonable price (I got mine for $65). Unfortunately, he just halted production from somehow being screwed over by Paypal. Regrets. The shield does a great job of keeping the wind off the torso at highway speeds, and makes the bike much more comfortable. There is a slight amount of buffeting at high speeds, but nothing awful. I found that the shield blocked alot of airflow, which made it too hot for summer riding, so I switched back to the stock shield until the weather cools off. During the winter months, this shield will be invaluable.

07-11-2012     Out on the tracks -- The crew was stringing new fiber optic wire down the tracks to re-establish communication between different substations in the Pascagoula/ Moss Point area.

07-11-2012     Thomas just got hired on as a lifeguard at the yacht club. He is proud of his red shorts.

07-11-2012     Testing for voltage in an underground light pedestal at the Butch Oustalet dealership in Pascagoula. They were installed only a couple weeks ago, and lights are already being reported out.

06-25-2012     After completing some maintenance on the ninjas, Alex and I decided to go for a cruise down to Southern LA. The weather was a miserable 100 degrees or so, which was countered with pre-soaked t-shirts. We made it as far south as the red circle before we began running out of gas.

06-25-2012     Both ninjas on reserve in the middle of nowhere, southern LA. We coasted into a gas station on fumes. Phew.

06-25-2012     Crossing the Mississippi via the ferry at Point A La Hache, LA, on the eastern side.

06-25-2012     The breathtaking expanse of the Mississippi River and it\'s surroundings in Southern LA.

06-25-2012     The entrance to Bayou Sauvage Wildlife Refuge. This scenic swampland can be found off of HWY 90 in east Louisiana.

06-25-2012     Alex and I jumped on the bikes and went for a spin south of I-10, to a forgotten place called Logtown. Before Stennis Space Center was built and the surrounding areas condemned for the buffer zone, Logtown was a booming town known for its logging industry that supplied New Orleans. All that is left now is various trails leading to beautiful swampscapes.
